Rural Retailing Initiative - Newark and Sherwood District Council

The primary objective of the Rural Retailing Initiative is to assist small rural shops/Post Office businesses within the Newark and Sherwood District, where the population of the village is under 3000. The scheme will enable businesses to apply for grant assistance to go towards positioning themselves better for retailing in a difficult climate. For further details on the scheme visit their website - http://www.newark-sherwooddc.gov.uk/pp/service/detail.asp?id=1755

Even if the above support is not applicable to your area, it highlights that it is always important to know what grants are available to your project regionally. Contact you local district and rural community councils to see how they may be able to help.
