Fruit and Veg Cart

How do you display your fresh produce? An increasing number of shops are asking for a working design for a fruit and veg cart to promote local produce. Can you help?

We are in the process of sourcing equipment for our  shop at Eardisland. There is a great website www.gadsby.co.uk that sells equipment including Fruit & Veg carts. If you are registered with HEFF, and can claim an additional 6 new 'local producers' you can get 2 of these carts free from HEFF!

Excuse my ignorance, but HEFF is ...?

 Hi Graham,

HEFF is Heart of England Fine Foods: www.heff.co.uk

I think the offer of 'free units' depends where you are based in the UK.

Aah. We have http://www.rfgyh.co.uk/ which might be called 'Deliciously Yorkshire', and seems to be focussed on big food companies in our region.

As for veg stands, fruit and veg is our shop's core stock in trade. The photo shows two new stainless steel display stands we recently commissioned from a local firm to replace the ageing and decrepit wooden displays we had previously. We paid about £1100 ex. VAT for the two, which were custom made to fit the space outside the shop. They are great - lightweight and easy to move in and out of the shop on the lockable castors.
