Coffee Machines

Our shop and cafe will open in May/June 2010 and we are considering hiring an "espresso" type coffee machine. Can anyone please pass on their experience with this ie Best machine to hire and the best supplier of coffee; the margins achieved; break even levels etc. We are looking for actual figures rather than salesman's blurb.

Hello

We are a new shop  - due to start trading on the 10th May 2010. We have decided to go for a traditional coffee machine rather than a bean to cup, as you get a better quality machine for the money, and there are fewer parts involved to go wrong. It does require staff to be trained, but the coffee you are able to offer is fantastic and the margins are really great too.

We are working with Qualitasse, a family firm based in Basingstoke - they do the machines, the coffee, and all the supplies and the Barista training and I cannot fault them so far - lovely people to do business with. Contact Martin Perry 07971 795020 or finesse@qualitasse.co.uk.

Hope this helps

Hi,

Good luck for your opening on the 10th May and congratulations on becoming our newest community - owned shop. That will make the total number 236 - and don't forget to fill in your shop page on this website.

Also did you know that you have beaten the BBC Archers village of Ambridge by only a few weeks. They have just declared that their shop will be opening on Wednesday June 2nd - no doubt with a few dramas on the way. We hope your opening has no untoward dramas of its own, that the day is fun and the till works hard!

With best wishes

Gill
