About the Shop
Bradfield Southend Village Stores is a profit making community enterprise which opened in 2005 providing a shop and post office. It was partly financed by local people, many of whom are shareholders. It is controlled by a Management Committee and is currently housed in a temporary building in the car park of Bradfield Village Halls. They hope to get a permanent building within four years.
Village shop on the ''Fast Track'' to success
Bradfield Southend Village Stores is a truly enterprising group that has worked hard to re-open a shop and post office after the earlier facility closed.
An Enterprise Fast Track grant combined with funds raised from local supporters helped the group to access advice, training and equipment. A dedicated team of staff and volunteers appreciate the interaction with customers and increased knowledge of technology. They have received staff training from the Village Retail Shop Association Development Worker and have been awarded a further consultation and training in 2006.

The following information has been taken from the shops website:
Bradfield Southend Village Stores is a community shop and post office. Set up in 2005, it started life in a portakabin located on Bradfield Village Hall Car Park, but in September 2009 moved into a new purpose designed building next door. The Village Hall Car Park is still used for parking. It is run as a not–for profit enterprise under Industrial and Provident Society rules. It is controlled by a voluntary Management Committee and manned by a combination of paid and voluntary staff. It sells all the day to day necessities that you would expect in a convenience store.
